“We’re going to Disneyland. We’re going to Disneyland, “ I remember our kids chanting this and dancing in a circle. Well we tried to go before Kristen left on her mission. We had flights and everything, but Disney closed two days before our flights were scheduled. Then we tried to go to California anyway and The beaches closed. Our tickets were supposed to be the day of the earth quake in Salt Lake City. Kristen said, “Please don’t go while I’m gone.” So she was finally home from her mission and we worked it out after Christmas. It proved to be quite the adventure! We knew the temperature would be in the low 50s, but we were determined. When we got to Salt Lake, a snow storm hit, while we were eating at a restaurant. Later Natalie started complaining thatcher stomach hurt. She got food poisoning from the restaurant. IN the mean time the runway had to be plowed and the wings de-iced and this led to delay after delay. Our flight leaving at 8:00pm didn't actually leave until around 3:00 am. We were just so thankful to leave at all. Nat had about 5 sessions of throwing up in the bathroom and was laying down under the seats. When it was finally time to go, she got sick on the boarding bridge because she couldn't get to a garbage. She walked up to the pilot and asked for a garbage. He pointed to the metal pull out and she got sick right in front of him. He pointed to the bathroom, where she finished being sick and then he gave her a bag and let her board. No one complained, it was time to go. We pushed through and arrived at our Air B&B at 4:30 am.
so bright and early the next day half of us got up and went to Disneyland. Kristen got food poisoning as well and was feeling pretty nauseous, so she got some sleep. We rode a lot of rides in the first 1 1/2 hours, then the crowds came and it slowed everything down. Katelyn and Mitchell went to Universal, because they couldn't get reservations the first day at Disney. They dropped Olivia and Kristen off around noon. Kristen wanted to come and try it. After all this trip was for her. She was so cheerful and sweet. Nat and Kris sat against a wall because it felt better to sit down, until we got closer to getting on the ride.
We even saw a few characters from afar. They would wave at people, but not stop moving.
After the ride we took a few pictures and then she needed to go home. So, I took her to the apartment, got a power nap and then back to Disney.
