The Storm

So we have had our tramp for many years.  We believe in exercise and getting outside, so we leave our tramp up year round.  It had finally had enough and we broke down and bought a new one.  It seems like it had only been a week when the storm hit and crunched it beyond repair.  Luckily Visa covers things like that so they helped, but this wind in Idaho can be trouble.

We had another incident with our tramp where a really scary windy storm came and lifted our tramp up and over our fence into the front yard.  It was pretty crazy.  Some tramps ended up in trees.
Another tramp story was when we lived on the West side in Foxhollow.  We found a tramp in the neighborhood for sale at a yard sale.  I guess their kids were doing too many flips and they wanted to get rid of it.  We didn't want to take it apart, so we put it on the top of our car and drove real slow until we got to our house.

Traditional Brown Grass for Easter

Since I have lived in Idaho, every Easter egg hunt or Easter celebration that I have been involved with has one characteristic that still surprises me over and over.  It's the brown grass.  I know it is spring and you can see a hint of green coming, but it is not very close.  So we usually take a picture of the Easter dresses and it is always accompanied with the brown or maybe straw colored grass.

Olivia's Kindergarten graduations was really sweet..  They all dressed up like what they want to be when they grow up.  Olivia is a Scientist.  Her best friends are Mariah, Anna, Anniston and Cassie and CJ.

Her teacher is Mrs. Johnston and to the right is my friend Heather Rhinehart and her daughter Anna.

Districts

Track days were actually pretty fun for a mom that had never been to a track meet.  Jeff on the other hand was a track runner and had plenty of experience in this arena.  Katelyn had played volleyball her whole life and had always wondered if she could make it to state if she chose an individual sport.  Katelyn got to attend a state volleyball game as a Freshman and back up if a Senior got injured, but had never played there.  Anna had gone with her team of cross country, but never as a track runner.  So we had to get past districts to get there.

Anna did a pretty good job on her long jump and we were hoping that she might get in this way, but it was a little short.

Katelyn competed in the discus and actually qualified to go to state in that sport. She was so excited.

She had accomplished her dream to go to state.

Now let's try shotput.  She ended up qualifying there as well.

Anna had one last chance.  In order to make it to state, you had to get first, second or have the lowest time of two district races in third place.  So 2 1/2 got to go.
Anna really pushed herself harder than she ever had and ended up being 3rd.  So then we had to wait to see if her time was better than the other third place winner from the other district.

She did it!   and miraculously both Kate and
Anna were able to qualify.
