It's All in the Attitude

Most of my girls have had really long hair at a young age.
And they all eventually beg me to cut their beautiful blond hair that will never be that color again unless they dye it.  It's hard to cut off all of that hair, but they think they look amazing.

It does look cute, but it is hard  to let the hair go with out a little mourning.

Besides when you've got this kind of attitude, who needs long hair.

Turkey Trot

Now that Anna's Cross country season was finally over, the Kristen and Natalie decided to join in on the fun.  So they ran in the Turkey Trot.  Luckily it rained and was super cold cutting down on the amount of contestants and they all came home winners.

Indians, Pilgrims and a Turkey

Today started out like a regular Thanksgiving day with a little football, then someone got a brilliant idea.  "Let's dress up like Indians and Pilgrims!"

So we dragged out a few costumes and we started  braiding hair with beads.  Then we cut up the sleeves of a few old T-shirts and put beads on the ends of the strips.  "Hey we should have Kyle be Turkey legs." Who knew that he would go for it.

                                                          Indians

                                                                           Pilgrims
                                                                  and the Turkey Legs

 Delicious!

Don't forget the pies!

Jeff's First Elk

So, for many years Jeff has hiked and or hunted with Jared Scott.  Jared is a mountain goat.  He runs up and down mountains with ease.  Jeff is also a mountain goat, 10 plus years older.  So it's always a fun challenge to hunt with Jared.  After many tries to find to find the perfect one.  Jeff finally settled for  this one.  It was his first elk.  This is his elk before he knew what was going to happen.
Here is Jeff and his elk after.

Here is Jared and his elk.  Thanks guys for providing for the families.

The Rain Blanket

Kristen was in a
GATE class and had to come up with an invention.  So her brilliant idea was a "RainBlanket."  So she got some snazzy zebra tablecloth fabric pinned, measured and sewed some warm polar fleeceinto it and  Viola, a rain blanket.  It  keeps you dry and warm at the same time.  She and her friend Brett did this assignment together.

First Letter

Anna got her first letter in Cross country.  So when she started out this year she thought "Hm, I need some excercise to stay in shape for track.  I think I'll try cross country."  She ran my first race in Pocatello and it was the most terrible thing ever because it is all hills.  After that race she figured out that you got cirlce of 8 shirtif you were one f the top 8 runners.  So she said to her friend Ashton,"Lets try to get in the circle of eight by the end of the year." And she said."Ok."  After about 2 or 3 more races she surprised everyone with winning first in the JV race at Rigby Lake and earning the 8th spot in the Circle of Eight.   She said of that race., "That was the greatest race of all time because no one expected me to do well."  Then she got on Varstity in the TigerGrizz Invitational.  Then she went  went to Bob Furman and I thought, Kay, I want to get a state sweatshirt."  Then she worked really hard went to state 5th place.  At state she and contributed to the  team score and they placed second overall at .  Needless to say it was a surprising and great year for cross country.

Sleeping Mask

You know how sometimes kids get an item, like a sleeping mask, because what kid doesn't need a sleeping mask, and then they surprise you and actually use it.  Olivia is just that kind of kid.

Happy Birthday Kyle!

Kyle turns 14.  Breakfast in bed consisting mostly of meat or protein.  Grandma and Grandpa Miller were here because it was also Natalie's baptism.  The funny thing about Kyle at this time, is that he had just gone through a growth spurt.  He is tall and skinny.

The Christensens were also here as well as Grammie and Michael and Stephanie and kids.

This is his resting look.  Yes, he looks bored even at his own party.

This is his goofy smile.  It's really hard to get a normal smile from him in a picture, but when you get it, it's got  a sparkle.
