Trick or Treating

It's always fun to see what the kids dream about when it comes to dressing up.We actually  talk about it a lot.  Olivia was easy this year.  She wanted to be one of Barbie's Twelve Dancing Princesses. My friend LaTisha happened to have a costume that we could borrow. Natalie was dreaming of being Katara from the cartoon Avatar series.  There was not a costume to be seen, so Grammie created one. Last but not least Kristen dreamed of being a Newsie.  This dream was not completely appreciated by her age group with a lot of questions about who she was.  Now if my friends would have seen her they would have known for sure.

The Neighborhood Halloween Party

The Halloween Party was full of fun with lots of interesting costumes.  I think Jeff is the perfect Metro Man with his 5:00 shadow. I saw the Mega Mind costume at a recent roadshow with Villains Anonymous. It was super fun and besides the volleyball on my head, it was pretty comfortable.

Kami and Jeff Sondrup probably had on my favorite costume of all time because they borrowed our clothes and glasses and surprised us by dressing up like us. I want to do that to someone else some day.
Tyler couldn't come, but Amberly came through with Alisa her cousin as sister missionaries.  Someone thought we really invited the missionaries.  The Rawlins as a witch and a scary construction worker.

The Browers were a corpse bride and a mortician.  The Andersons were apple and microsoft.  The Craigs were fifties with Kaylene's brother's letter man jacket. The Marrotts were vampires and the Hermansens were smartie pants.

The Durtches were Sam and Ella, get it Salmonella. The Carsons were The mullet and someone on meds.
We love our neighbors and they never disappoint.

The Mohawk

Over the years of crazy hair days my kids have commented regularly about that long haired kid with the Mohawk.  How does he get his long hair to stick up.  It has been a puzzle.  So, we tried this year with Kristen. We woke up early and plastered her hair with gel, blow dried the gel and even used some bobby pins.  We did kind of run out of time and I think maybe that kid's hair is shorter or thinner.  We still made our  best effort at  a long haired Mohawk!

Mary turns 45

Turning 45 was not bad for me.  It felt like "Hey I've arrived. I know something because I've lived."  OK it's not that old, but it's nice to just be there and not worry about it.  I still feel 23 in my heart.

Another Creative Sunday

It never ceases to amaze me what the kids come up with on Sunday.  Who knew that you could stuff a snow outfit that tight full of coats.  Our little Natalie is not so little anymore.

Madison's Baby Blessing

With Charlie in town from Texas we had to get together.  Can you believe that all these neices and nephews are in Provo.  We came up from Idaho and Melinda's family from Utah.  Trevor and Jacob were recently home from their missions.  Heidi Jo hosted it at her house.  With delicious food and excellent company, we talked up a storm and had a blast.
